AMVETS National Service Officer Program is a nationwide program that provides information, counseling, and claims services to veterans and their dependents. The program is staffed by AMVETS National Service Officers who are experts in assisting veterans with filing claims for VA benefits. In addition to claims assistance, they also offer support and guidance in various areas such as VA health care benefits, vocational rehabilitation and employment, VA pension benefits, educational and training benefits, VA home loan guaranty, burial and memorial benefits, active and reserve members dealing with the VA, transition assistance, dependents and survivors health care, appeals of VA claims decisions, obtaining military medals and records, homeless outreach, suicide prevention, housing modification benefits, and VA program awareness. These services are provided at no cost to the claimant or their family, and the program is accredited by the Department of Veterans Affairs.
