The Peer Education Program of Los Angeles (PEP LA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to HIV/AIDS prevention through peer education. Since 1986, PEP LA has been providing effective educational outreach programs to youth and communities in Los Angeles and around the world. PEP LA trains multi-cultural youth peer educators aged 13-24 to deliver life-saving messages about HIV/AIDS to their peers in schools, probation centers, residential facilities, and various youth organizations. By utilizing peer educators, PEP LA creates a common ground for communication and understanding among teens, allowing for open discussions on sexuality, decision-making, and negotiation skills. PEP LA also conducts workshops and trains trainers from diverse backgrounds and experiences to spread accurate information about transmission, prevention, and care for people living with HIV/AIDS. As a result of their efforts, PEP LA has achieved remarkable success in reducing the transmission of HIV and combating discrimination and isolation. For more information about their programs or to make a donation, visit the PEP LA website or contact their office in Los Angeles.
