United Friends of the Children is a nonprofit organization based in Los Angeles, California. Since 1979, they have been empowering foster youth in the LA County area through their housing and educational services. With the largest concentration of foster youth in the nation, United Friends is dedicated to helping these young individuals transition into adulthood successfully. They provide critical support services such as tutoring, counseling, therapy, and food to meet the immediate needs of foster youth, especially in the aftermath of the pandemic. They also focus on building long-term, consistent relationships to unlock the potential of foster youth. Through their programs, they address challenges like homelessness, incarceration, poor educational attainment, and lack of employment opportunities. United Friends has a proven impact, with high graduation rates, college degree attainment, stable housing, and employment among their alumni.
