Mama Chuy DC, a modern-day Mexican taqueria... is so much more than your typical run-of-the-mill taco joint. Head Chef and menu developer, Joe Orozco has long been inspired by the authentic home cooking of his childhood, so much so that he named his first restaurant after his beloved Grandmother. Armed with recipes passed down for generations, his main goal is to continually provide flavorful food, with basics jazzed up by locally sourced seasonal products. While authenticity is ever-important, at Mama Chuy DC, there is room for creativity and reinvention without losing sight of true Mexican flavors.
