First-time patients begin with a comprehensive dental examination. We discuss with patients any concerns or problems they may have, and examine the mouth for any abnormalities such as oral cancer, tooth decay, defective fillings, and jaw dysfunction. The exam includes a full series of x-rays, a procedure that is recommended every 3 years. We can then perform a routine cleaning if the patient has had regular dental care, or, if any signs of problems are present, we can recommend a comprehensive treatment.
