Korean American Family Services (KAFS) is a local organization based in Los Angeles, California that provides a variety of culturally responsive social services for the Korean and Asian American community. Their programs include mental health services, domestic violence support, foster care, and other family support services. The organization operates the Asian Foster Family Initiative (AFFI), the nation's first and only Asian Pacific Islander-focused foster family agency, providing culturally sensitive homes for API foster children. KAFS also offers bilingual/bicultural therapists who assist individuals with relationship problems, depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, and other mental health concerns. They have a domestic violence program that provides crisis intervention, counseling, financial support, and education for victims of intimate partner violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking. KAFS aims to enhance the quality of life for Korean and Asian American families by addressing adaptation and acculturation stresses through their diverse range of programs.
