Hmmm??? Well back in the late ’70s, when I was a warehouse guy, me and my buddy “Bates” wanted to open a BBQ and Italian joint. They said, “You can’t do that, you don’t know nothin’ bout the restaurant biz!” Then in ’85, my good buddy Joe said, “I’ll show you the biz.” He did and I fell in love with it. After many failed attempts to open an Italian Cafe, I almost decided to give up and came up with another idea…an Italian Sandwich Shop. The banks kept sayin’, “NO!”
Then I started playin’ the blues (my other love).
Well, meanwhile I took a trip to New Orleans and BAM! DING,DING,DING! The folks in NOLA know how to do it…marry food and music together. Such a simple idea that made sense. So, on October 1, 2004, we opened Blues City Deli and are living happily ever after…
