Upon opening in 2006, Bar Tartine was named one of San Francisco magazine’s “Top 10 Restaurants” in the city, their reputation growing steadily since. Located in the lively Mission neighborhood, this casual, chic 50-seat hotspot features dark wood, glowing sconces, a long Italian marble bar for drinking and dining, and sprays of fresh flowers lending it an intimate and lively ambiance. Bar Tartine’s menu is a collaboration between owners Elisabeth Prueitt and Chad Robertson (of Tartine Bakery) and Chef Chris Kronner who takes inspiration and guidance from its founders. Kronner brings a progressive, yet classic approach, blending traditional European dishes and contemporary Bay Area influences. He is guided the old-fashioned way, not only by the ingredients, but also by their makers. Seasonal desserts top off a memorable meal with a cup of Four Barrel coffee.
